I opened The Curatorium in 2006, in the Fox Point area of Providence, which was a residential neighborhood in the heart of College Hill, surrounded by schools and universities, with a healthy tourist presence. The store featured a dizzying range of types of objects, with an emphasis on items that were well designed, well made, affordable, beautiful, useful, unusual, and delightful. The store quickly became Providence's favorite retail establishment, a popular tourist destination, a meeting spot, and a reliable source of gifts for all occasions.
